Terms of Service

D & S Lewis Cleaning - Terms & Conditions

By booking a cleaning service through this website, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from booking with us.

 

Booking Confirmation

Booking a service online does not guarantee availability for the requested date and time.

A confirmation will be sent via email or phone.

To secure your cleaning appointment, a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required. This amount will be deducted from the total cleaning cost.

 

Cleaning Crew

Our team typically consists of one, two or three cleaners; however, additional staff may be assigned depending on the workload.

We strive for consistency but may rotate staff to ensure proper training and coverage.

All employees undergo rigorous background checks and drug testing to ensure safety and professionalism.

 

Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service due to:

  • Safety concerns
  • Inappropriate or uncomfortable situations
  • Presence of weapons on the premises
  • Severe clutter or disconnected utilities
  • Unsanitary conditions or any environment that makes our cleaners feel unsafe
  • If a job is deemed unreasonable upon arrival, service may be refused, and a cancellation fee will apply.

 

Preparing for Cleaning Day

Our pricing is based on cleaners focusing solely on cleaning. Please tidy up beforehand for easy access to floors, countertops, and other surfaces.

If you require assistance with tidying up, contact our office in advance to adjust the cleaning fee accordingly.

Pets

We work around pets but ask that they remain calm and restricted for efficiency and safety.

If a pet becomes aggressive or anxious, we may remove our staff from the premises.

If a cleaning technician must leave due to an aggressive pet, our cancellation policy will apply.

 

Service Fees & Pricing Adjustments

Instant pricing is based on experience and may be adjusted based on the actual condition of the premises.

If additional cleaning time is needed, we will notify you before proceeding. If we cannot reach you, the cleaning team will leave, and a cancellation fee will be charged.

Prices may be reevaluated if cleaning time significantly differs from the original estimate.

Recurring service discounts apply after the first cleaning.

Annual rate increases (up to 8%) may occur due to changes in economic conditions, frequency, or other factors.

 

Payments

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment.

Payment must be made on the day of service via cash, check, or credit card.

 

Refund Policy

We do not offer refunds. However, if you are unsatisfied, notify us within 24 hours, and we will correct the issue at no additional charge.

 

Lockouts & Cancellations

Clients must provide access to the PREMISES. If the team is locked out, we will attempt to contact you for 20 minutes.

If we cannot gain access, the cleaning will be skipped, and a $100 late cancellation fee will apply.

To avoid fees, provide a key or access code in advance.

A minimum 48-hour notice is required to reschedule or cancel to avoid a cancellation fee.

 

Security Systems

If your premises has an alarm system, please ensure it is disarmed or provide us with instructions for access.

If the alarm code changes, please notify us to prevent service disruptions and fees.

 

Use of Client’s Vacuum & Supplies

If you request us to use your vacuum, we are NOT responsible for any damage or repairs.

If your vacuum is not functioning properly, we will be UNABLE to vacuum floors.

We provide cleaning supplies but can accommodate green products upon request.

If using client-provided products, we are NOT liable for any damages caused.

 

Items We Cannot Clean

  • Mold removal
  • Mental Health Cleaning - Hoarding situations
  • Animal and human body fluids, including blood, feces, urine, and vomit
  • Cat litter boxes, bird cages, or other pet waste

 

Unreachable Areas & Heavy Items

For safety reasons, cleaners do not climb higher than a step stool.

Heavy objects over 35 lbs will not be moved. Please reposition furniture beforehand if needed.

 

Breakage, Damage & Loss Policy

Accidents are rare but possible. We carry insurance for damages caused by our team.

We are not liable for normal wear and tear, improper installations, or fragile items not disclosed beforehand.

Artwork, collectibles, and heirlooms should be pointed out prior to service.

Any breakage or loss must be reported within 24 hours for a replacement attempt.

 

Arrival Time & Scheduling

Cleaning appointments are scheduled between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

  • In some cases, alternative cleaning times can be arranged.

We aim to arrive within 30 minutes early to 45 minutes late of your scheduled time.

Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.

 

Holidays

We do not offer cleaning services on holidays.

 

Key Handling

Client keys are securely stored and accessible only to management.

If a key is left in an unsecured location, we are not responsible for theft or damages.

Upon service termination, keys will be returned within 48 hours.

 

Non-Solicitation of Employees

Clients agree not to directly hire or solicit our cleaners.

We invest significant resources in screening and training our team members.

 

Governing Law

Any disputes shall be governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.

We strive to provide a clear, informative, and honest service. If you have suggestions, please let us know!

D & S Lewis Cleaning reserves the right to update these terms at any time without prior notice.
